Teen Challenge was started in 1958 in New York by David Wilkerson to offer structured help to young people with addictions. By 2007 there were more than 23,000 residents in 450 centres in 92 countries on five continents. In addition to residential units helping people with life-controlling problems, Teen Challenge also run buses to engage with people in various communities.
A team from Living Word runs a Teen Challenge outreach bus every Thursday, offering hot drinks, toasties and conversation to anyone and everyone who comes onto the bus. We believe that God loves all people, & so we desire to see God help everyone who has problems bigger than themselves.
The bus parks at Love Street in Paisley from 8-9pm, and then at the Mount Royal in Linwood from 9-10pm.

Our Monday Drop-In is community-based and runs primarily through term-time for the young people of the Thrushcraigs area of Paisley (Paisley South, Renfrewshire). We open from 7.30pm until 9.30pm and try to encourage a relaxed atmosphere where the young people feel comfortable and safe.
We have a cafe-style area with toasties and coffee as well as the latest equipment such as a PS3, XBox360, WiiFit, a pool table, table tennis, air-hockey.
We have a dedicated team who have committed to volunteering at our Drop-In as well as two sessional youth workers. The project is co-ordinated by LWCC's youth and community development worker, Clare McCormack.
More volunteers are always needed for the Drop-In, football coaching sessions, detached work, or other occasional events in and around Paisley, and even if you only have one night per month to offer to either of the groups this would be a great help, as it is often a lack of volunteers which limits the project's capabilities.
The project is currently funded by LWCC (community focused church) and Renfrewshire council LAC south.
