In 2009 we launched our new vision statement based on the Worship - Discipleship - Mission triangle. Practically, these are working out in the following ways:
Worship - an increasing emphasis on creative worship. LWCC has held two creative worship events, seeking to broaden our understanding of the all-embracing nature of the worship of God. Our worship of Him is not limited to the singing of songs on a Sunday morning, but encompasses all areas of our lifestyles. Look out for innovative ways to worship Him, & turn all things - family life, work, leisure, etc. - to His praise.
Discipleship - following Jesus is not about church attendance, but about living out a Christ-centred life. LWCC is aiming to develop ways in which everyone connected to us can grow as God-focussed & people-loving disciples. The spirit of discipleship is actively seeking coaching & learning from one another. Look out for our Peacemaking course, & join a Discovery Group to get connected.
Mission - LWCC aims to spend its resources & energy increasingly on reaching others with the life-changing message of God's love. We are currently restructuring our overseas engagements, & exploring deeper involvement with World Ministries abroad. At home, we see 'church' as central to the community, & over the next year we will be planning our community vision as well as piloting Tearfund's Discovery course, an innovative & creative exploration of community mission.
We see the church as a faith community, being faithful to God and engaged with the community. We aim to welcome people to belong to the community of faith as they seek God.
